Central Builders, Inc Of San Antonio, Texas Receives Top Award For Its Diversity & Inclusion Program By National Association

 

Associated General Contractors of Also Recognizes Hensel Phelps and AvalonBay Communities for their Diversity & Inclusion Programs while Bermúdez Longo Díaz Massó, LLC is Named Diverse Business of the Year

San Antonios Central Builders was recognized as having the nations top construction diversity & inclusion program by the Associated General Contractors of . The association also awarded Puerto Ricos Bermúdez Longo Díaz Massó as Diverse Business of the Year. Also receiving Diversity and Inclusion Excellence Awards, sponsored by WTW, to Hensel Phelps and AvalonBay Communities.

If diversifying our workforce was easy, we would all have done it by now. That is why we and WTW identify and honor members that are doing an outstanding job making their firms more diverse and inclusive, said Tom Brown, the associations president and president of Sierra Pacific West, Inc. Diverse Business of the Year winner Bermúdez, Longo, Diaz-Massó, LLC, better known as BLDM, is a distinguished and leading specialty construction firm focusing strongly on electrical, mechanical, and telecommunications infrastructure projects within Puerto Rico. Founded and led by Puerto Rican professionals, their commitment to delivering exceptional results and unwavering dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion has solidified their reputation in the construction industry. The Association also announced two other winners of the associations seventh annual Diversity & Inclusion Excellence Awards. Hensel Phelps, based in Colorado, won the Associations Diversity & Inclusion Excellence Award for a large contractor. Arlington, Virginias AvalonBay Communities won the Diversity & Inclusion Excellence Award for a mid-sized contractor. In addition, Central Builders also won the Diversity & Inclusion Excellence Award for a small contractor.

The awards were presented during the associations annual convention in San Diego, California last month. A diverse panel of judges, representing all aspects of construction, evaluated the submissions based on three criteria: corporate commitment to diversity & inclusion, workforce diversity & inclusion initiatives and subcontractor/supply chain diversity & inclusion initiatives.
